Jenny Carries a New Toy
What a trooper! What news...? Well we're kind of at a somewhat static point in terms of her making friends with Simon - in other words he is wary of her and continues to show displeasure, although they can eat and sleep near each other, Simon is still reactive to her in other situations and makes angry noises and swats. We remain hopeful and are trying our best to foster good relations!

Jenny Plays Hide and Seek!
We've discovered that when Jenny stalks us, she'll hide behind things....very strange....as if there is an instinctual need to hide that is separate from sight. In this award winning (haha) video Jenny plays Hide and Seek. Forgive my gravely voice, i have a cold.

Can Jenny Perceive Motion
In this experiment it appears that Jenny might have some ability to discern motion. This came about this morning when i saw her focus in on Simon's tail which was barely twitching and she jumped on it. Now in the past we thought what appeared to be some sight (despite lack of response to the laser) was just reacting to air currents.
So in the Video i show her my hand, not moving and she walks right past it. But from several feet away i start wagging my fingers and (after a delay while she scratches herself) she homes in on it and pounces. I'm very dubious that these are air currents on her whiskers, but might that be possible? Will talk to her Vet today, Dr. Jenn. And yes, in case you forgot or didn't know, Jenny is named after our Vet. :)

Jenny Wins Again
Jenny and Simon are genuinely doing better each day. I think Simon is just giving up. She can now push him away from his food bowl without him hissing. Will love follow?

Jenny Eats Next to Simon
Even though we continue to make progress, it seems to be incremental. Like we're in a phase where he will hiss at her if she annoys him, but he is generally getting slowly more tolerant. Simon's also learned he can get away from her by climbing something as she can't really climb after him (yet).

Special Jenny Update!
In her 3d day released from Office Isolation Jenny had a brief nap with Simon. Well she napped and he watched and it didn't last very long but it was real progress. Jenny doesn't like being carried places, its disorienting so we usually need to lead her to a place if we want to move her. Also, while she physically adapted to the apt fairly quickly, we're noticing that she's still getting increasingly comfortable with her surroundings. And she is incredibly sound connected, if she even hear me walking she will follow me.
