Jenny Destroys Cleaning Pads

Jenny took out this role of facial cleaning pads, pranced out into the kitchen with it, and then took it back to the bathroom to destroy it. Very Naughty!

Jenny chases plastic bag ball :-)

Here is jenny after a little absence from the blog chasing her newest favorite toy, a balled up plastic bag.  And yes we are careful she doesn't eat it or get stuck in the handles!  She is now 5 1/2 months old! She and Simon continue to show slow improvement, basically he is ok with her when she isn't pestering him.

You'll notice that she's leading me at times and that's because she likes it when i throw the ball on a sofa, and she's anticipating that I will do that!

Another Breakthrough, Jenny Grooms Simon!

It was short but sweet.  Jenny lays next to Simon and grooms him :)  It warmed our heart (if you can't tell by my mushy happy voice)!

Breakthru! Jenny and Simon Together Again

You can't hear what i'm saying because i'm whispering so i don't wake them up, but basically i'm really excited that they are sleeping so close together and Simon is ok with it.  She must have crawled up after Simon got in position and he just accepted her.  Until after dinner when they had a little spat ;)

Jenny Bites Her Tail

And while she's biting her tail, she seems to fall asleep for a minute, but since only one eye can open and close it's a bit hard to tell sometimes.

Tail Biting

OK this is just cute!

Jenny circles towards her prey!

In this amazing video (haha j/k) Jenny does do this interesting thing.  I toss the paperball for her behind the cushion and instead of directly attacking it, she actually circles around towards it.  It's well understood that cats will often do this, predicting where their prey will be in the future, but who knew a blind kitten can do the exact same thing!?!?

Jenny Sleeps with Her Head Resting on Simon

Jenny got sleepy on my legs so i placed her next to Simon and for a few minutes she slept next to him touching, and he was ok with it!  Then she woke up and left.

Jenny Steals Daddy's Tie

I was in our bedroom when I saw Jenny dragging my tie across the bedroom floor.  This means she walked into our closet, went to the (low hanging) tie rack and pulled out a tie. Naughty Girl! :-)

Jenny Carries a New Toy

What a trooper!  What news...?  Well we're kind of at a somewhat static point in terms of her making friends with Simon - in other words he is wary of her and continues to show displeasure, although they can eat and sleep near each other, Simon is still reactive to her in other situations and makes angry noises and swats.  We remain hopeful and are trying our best to foster good relations!

Jenny Plays Hide and Seek!

We've discovered that when Jenny stalks us, she'll hide behind things....very strange....as if there is an instinctual need to hide that is separate from sight.  In this award winning (haha) video Jenny plays Hide and Seek.  Forgive my gravely voice, i have a cold.

Can Jenny Perceive Motion

In this experiment it appears that Jenny might have some ability to discern motion.  This came about this morning when i saw her focus in on Simon's tail which was barely twitching and she jumped on it.  Now in the past we thought what appeared to be some sight (despite lack of response to the laser) was just reacting to air currents.

So in the Video i show her my hand, not moving and she walks right past it.  But from several feet away i start wagging my fingers and (after a delay while she scratches herself) she homes in on it and pounces.  I'm very dubious that these are air currents on her whiskers, but might that be possible? Will talk to her Vet today, Dr. Jenn.  And yes, in case you forgot or didn't know, Jenny is named after our Vet. :)

Jenny and an Icecube!

The cameraman's perspective is a little off but oh well!
